In this “Check In”, I share the insight I gained from Daniel Schmachtenberger, one of the greatest minds of our times acting in service to the sacredness of life.
He thinks that the cause of our current Meta-Crises (crisis of crises) is Narrowly Defined Goals (ie. Intelligence). No one's saying do away with Intelligence! However, it needs to be in service of a different master. The idea put forward is that, at the current rate, AI will accelerate all our predicaments to our ultimate demise. It just accelerates and amplifies Intelligence/Narrowly Defined Goals.
The response to this dystopian future?
Daniel Schamchtenberger proposes that anything we do or create (AI, Tech, Policy, etc) must be working towards Wisdom - the pursuit of broadly defined goals in service of the whole. We need Intelligence to be the deputy of Wisdom, pursuing narrow goals with progress for the whole in mind. I've heard Intelligence/Masculine and Wisdom/Feminine used in similar ways before.
How do we move towards more Wisdom?
